The Asia Penny Farthing Association recently concluded a captivating three-day free trial event in Tung Po, held in conjunction with a pet-friendly community gathering. This unique combination sparked tremendous interest among pet owners eager to experience the thrill of riding these historic bicycles.
With their impressive 55-inch front wheels, the penny farthings became an unexpected photo hotspot for pets and their owners alike. The event even caught the attention of popular radio DJ – Music Lover, Cheng Tse Sing, while TVB’s J Sport program provided coverage of the occasion.
Encouraged by the enthusiastic response, the association plans to host more experiential events, culminating in an international penny farthing competition by the end of the year. These events aim to revive the unique sport and celebrate it as a vibrant part of local pop culture for hipsters!
