The Sports and Leisure Expo will run from July 15 to 21 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, coinciding with the Hong Kong Book Fair. Exhibitors will showcase a variety of emerging sports, aiming to promote family interaction and healthy living.
One highlight is the Penny Farthing, a 19th‑century European design with a large front wheel and small rear wheel that requires skillful balance to ride. Virginia Cheng, the Executive Director of the Asian Penny Farthing Association, noted: “In today’s digital world, people may be reluctant to spend time outdoors. That’s why we offer both indoor and outdoor activities, encouraging Hongkongers to be more active. It’s a healthy sport with a refreshing yet nostalgic feel.”
